On December 23, Chen Yaoshui, the full-time deputy director of Shanghai Office for the Promotion of Science and Technology Innovation Construction Center (“Sci-Tech Innovation Office”), investigated and surveyed in our university. Vice President Tong Xiaohua and the Leading Groups of the Science Platform Office and the Cooperation and Exchange Office of Sci-Tech Innovation Office, the National Undersea Scientific Observation System Project Office, the Research Management Department, and the Institute of Precision Optical Engineering, Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems of Tongji University attended the research meeting.
Chen Yaoshui and the delegation first visited the Laboratory of Optical Metrology and Sensing of Tongji University and listened to the overview of the Institute of Precision Optical Engineering Technology of Tongji University, the research layout of academician Li Tongbao in transformative optical metrology and sensing, as well as the research achievements and application prospects of the institute in micro and nano structure measurement, nano length and precision metrology.
In the research meeting held afterwards, Tong Xiaohua expressed his gratitude to Shanghai Office for the Promotion of Science and Technology Innovation Construction Center for its long-term support of Tongji University's integration into the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center. On The meeting, the report of the Institute of Precision Optical Engineering of Tongji University on the major project of "Transformative Optical Metrology Sensing Technology Innovation and Demonstration Application" was given. Chen Yaoshui indicated that Tongji University is facing the urgent needs of artificial intelligence, integrated circuits and biomedicine for optical metrology sensing technology, developing "digital optics" transformative metrology sensing technology and building original innovation incubation capacity, which has important strategic significance and industrial value.
The meeting also reported the Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems and the Major Science and Technology Infrastructure for National Undersea Scientific Observation Network respectively. Chen Yaoshui indicated that Tongji University was actively originating innovations, promoting all aspects of works in supporting the development of artificial intelligence in Shanghai and serving the national "strong country of the sea" strategy. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Shanghai Office for the Promotion of Science and Technology Innovation Construction Center will actively support Tongji University to build large facilities, construct major platforms, undertake large projects, produce major results, form a demonstration and leading role, and jointly promote the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center.
