The IPOE supports three provincial- and ministerial-level innovative research centers, namely, the MOE Key Laboratory of Advanced Micro-structured Materials, Shanghai Frontiers Science Center of Digital Optics, and Shanghai Professional Technical Service Platform for Full-Spectrum and High-Performance Optical Thin Film Devices and Applications. Moreover, the IPOE has participated in the construction of the Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems.Owing to these efforts, an innovative research platform has been established, which conforms with the principle of conducting research “based on the frontier scientific research, specialized in cutting-edge technological innovation, extended with interdisciplinary and socio-economic development.”Currently, the optical labs of the IPOE are built and distributed on the Siping Campus, Huxi Campus of Tongji University, Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems, and the Student Practice Base at Minhang Industry-University-Research Platform, built at a total expense of nearly 200 million Chinese Yuan on high-end instruments and more than 5,000 square meters of space for research activities and administration.
